Book Sailing Mumbai

The same operator, the same jetty and the same boats — sold to a family instead of to a charter budget.

Client
Book Sailing Mumbai — the second brand of the Gateway of India charter operator behind Yacht Mumbai
Role
Design + build · 2025

The problem

One operator, two customers who cannot be sold to in the same voice. A family planning a Sunday out and a company booking a premium charter want opposite things from the first sentence, and a single site that tries to hold both ends up sounding expensive to one and cheap to the other.

What’s on it

  • Four-way fleet split — sail boats, sail yachts, motor yachts, speed boats
  • Experience cards that book through WhatsApp rather than a form
  • Safety as a first-level page, matching the sister site
  • Gateway of India address, direct number and 7am–10pm operating hours
  • Service list covering sunset cruises, corporate events, celebrations and proposals
  • No published prices anywhere on the site

The calls

01

Split the operator across two domains instead of two sections of one site.

A page with an 'affordable' tab and a 'luxury' tab undercuts both claims at once. Two sites let each commit completely — the sister site never mentions price at all, this one leads with family-friendly and says so in the first line a search engine reads.

02

Kept the fleet taxonomy identical to the sister site.

Same boats, same jetty. A visitor who finds both should see the same four categories and the same safety page, because that reads as one operator with two brands. Restructuring it would have looked like two outfits pretending to be one.

03

Made WhatsApp the action on each experience card, not a form at the bottom.

Charter cost still moves with vessel, date and headcount, so no card can carry a price. Handing over at the moment of interest is worth more than collecting an email and replying tomorrow.

04

Put the operating hours beside the phone number.

Seven in the morning to ten at night answers the unasked question behind every unanswered call — whether anyone is actually there. It costs a line and it prevents the assumption that the business is dormant.

“One operator, two brands, and neither has to apologise for its price.”
